The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen called for effective cooperation between OIC and the Conference of the Security and Intelligence Services Commission, in Africa, to address growing wave of armed terrorism, religious extremism, drug trafficking, human trafficking and transnational crimes. In a speech delivered by OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs Hamid Obiluero on behalf of Al-Othaimeen, at the 14th session of the committee, held in Khartoum on 28 and 29 September, the Secretary-General underlined the importance OIC attaches to the work of the committee to combat international terrorism in 1994 and 1999, respectively and urged the 23 member States of the committee to lead effective cooperation between OIC and the committee, in exchange of data and information, investigation, exchange of experience, capacity development, issues of judicial cooperation and confiscating proceeds of crime.
