Asian stocks declined Tuesday, AP reported. Tokyo's Nikkei 225 lost 0.3 percent to 20,334.99 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng shed 0.1 percent to 27,470.59. The Shanghai Composite Index was unchanged at 3,339.38 and Seoul's Kospi lost 0.4 percent to 2,371.95. India's Sensex retreated 0.5 percent to 31,461.19 and Sydney's S&P-ASX 200 was little-changed at 5,679.40. New Zealand and Bangkok gained while Singapore and Jakarta declined. Benchmark U.S. crude gained 6 cents to $52.28 per barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract soared $1.56 on Monday to close at $52.22. Brent crude, used to price international oils, added 17 cents to $58.60 in London. It jumped $2.01 the previous session to $58.43. The dollar retreated to 111.56 yen from Monday's 111.69 yen. The euro gained to $1.858 from $1.1847.
