The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has affirmed its continuing support for international and regional trends aimed at protecting the marine environment and reducing the sources of marine pollution. Pointing out that the Saudi national transformation program 2020, which aims to achieve the ambitious vision of the Kingdom 2030, gives priority to the protection of the environment, conservation of natural resources and sustainable development, and includes many objectives and programs in this regard. This came in the Kingdom's speech today before the United Nations Conference to Support the Implementation of Objective 14 of the Sustainable Development Goals on "Conservation and Sustainable Use of the Ocean and Marine Resources for Sustainable Development", delivered by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Dr. Osama bin Ibrahim Faqiha. Dr. Faqiha pointed to the active participation of the Kingdom in the regional organizations concerned with protecting the environment of the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea and the Kingdom's commitment to the relevant international conventions and their participation in their meetings and the resulting protocols and coordination of efforts to achieve sustainable development.
