Egyptian President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi met with Russian foreign Sergei Shoigu and defense minister Sergei Lavrov in Cairo today. Following the meeting, Alaa Yousef, Egyptian presidential spokesman, said that they discussed the latest developments relating to a number of regional issues, topped by the situations in Syria and Libya. The two sides confirmed commitment to the political solutions for the different crises in the region, preservation of the unity, integrity of territories of countries and cohesion of their national institutions in what meets the aspirations of the people of the region. Yousef also said that the talks dealt with a number of issues on the bilateral relations, the dangers of the spread of terrorism and extremism, and agreed on the importance of exerting more international efforts to combat terror, in addition to continuing coordination and cooperation between the two countries in this field.
