The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Yemen, Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab alliance countries have no ambitions in Yemen and its aim is that Yemen, the Yemenis and the region enjoy security and stability. Al-Jaber made the remarks in a meeting on Yemen with a group of politicians, specialists, thinkers and media at the Washington Institute in Washington, DC. He said that the war in Yemen was not an option but a necessity in response to the demand of Yemeni legitimacy and to stop the Iranian intervention in Yemen and end its project to threaten the national security of the Gulf and the region and the international maritime corridors and to maintain the security and stability of the region. Ambassador Al Jaber said during the meeting that the Kingdom supported the participation of all Yemeni parties in the political process in Yemen in accordance with the three known references, the dismantling of the armed militias and the return of Yemen as an independent Arab state. He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab alliance countries have sought to find a political solution, stressing their willingness to provide support for reconstruction. He stressed that the coalition countries have given the protection of civilians a high priority and have drawn up a list of thousands of areas of civilian nature that are strictly prohibited. The coalition is fully committed to international humanitarian law and investigates any accusation against the alliance. He pointed out, in contrast, that the coup militias of Houthi and Saleh, deliberately kill, destruct, recruit children, use homes, schools and medical centers in their military operations and use them as stores and warehouses for weapons. He stressed that the Kingdom and the Arab alliance countries, especially King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, provided assistance to Yemen exceeding 600 million dollars, but the militias of Houthi and Saleh in return steal the aid and sell it on the black market and prevent access to it by the beneficiaries and trade in Yemenis' suffering, which they caused after their coup against the legitimate government and the Usurpation of power with the help of Saleh. He pointed out that the Arab alliance succeeded in eliminating terrorism, which Iran tried to expand and provoked sectarian and regional strife through its arms in Yemen, Houthi and Saleh.
