Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper commented on the Palestinian cause, saying that it is still the central issue at the top of the attention of Arab countries and peoples, noting that the Arab summit in Jordan focused on solving the Palestinian issue based on the international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab peace initiative. The paper noted that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said at the Summit's inauguration session, "We must not be preoccupied with grave events being witnessed in our region rather than affirming to the world that the Palestinian cause is central to our nation." The paper indicated that if the Arab Peace Initiative, launched by the Kingdom and adopted by Beirut Arab Summit in 2002, is accepted it will be the start of solution to the long-standing Palestinian cause.
