The death toll from a weekend landslide at a waste dump near the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa has risen to 113, an official said Wednesday. According to dpa, the death toll had previously been given as 65 for Saturday's accident at a garbage disposal area. The vast landslide buried houses. The death toll went up as more bodies were found at the site, city official Dagmawit Moges said. The government has said it is investigating the cause of the accident, which local residents attribute to the garbage dump having been too full. Known as Koshe, Amharic for "dirty," the landfill has been used as a dumping ground by Addis Ababa residents for more than 50 years.
