Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) welcomed here today the resumption of consultations on the Syrian crisis within the framework of high-level meetings, scheduled for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, in the Kazakh capital, Astana. The Organization said in a statement today that it hopes to pass constructive and practical steps for a ceasefire, protect civilians and stop the damage to Syria which threaten neighboring countries, as it looks to begin a consensual political process, in accordance with the decision of the Geneva Conference 1 and Security Council resolutions relevant resolution No. 2254. Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yusuf Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen confirmed the importance of reaching a peaceful political solution to stop the bloodshed and end the suffering of the Syrian people.
