Humanitarian activities currently witnessed inside Yemen and in Djibouti, prescribed by Riyadh-based King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works, are considered an integral part of achieving the goals of the Alliance Forces for Supporting the Legitimacy of Yemen, given 118 multi-faceted developmental projects worth more than $576, a report released here today said. The programs focus on qualitative provision of humanitarian assistance, mainly food and accommodation security programs, camps preparation, education, protection and early convalesce, health, nutrition, water and environmental rehabilitation, logistic services, emergency coordination and communication, medication support and medical supplies provision. In the field of food and accommodation security and camps preparation fields, the center has appropriated 43 projects covering all regions of the Kingdom, benefiting 19582835 at a cost of $236179982 with 24 partners. The projects implemented by the center in the field of education, protection and early convalesce amounted to 15 benefiting 3914236 at a cost of $75626921 with 12 partners while the projects implemented in the field of health, nutrition, water and environmental rehabilitation in Yemen reached 51 benefiting 208135569 at a cost of $24518275 with 41 partners. The center also appropriated nine projects benefiting 15112 at a cost of $56310970 with three partners in the field of logistics service, coordination of humanitarian and communication operations in cases of emergency. King Salman center has provided support for the Food and Agricultural Organization efforts in the Yemeni province of Al-Hodeida to combat malnutrition at a cost of $10 million, in implementation of directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to provide the needed relief, and humanitarian assistance to Yemen. Most recently, the center sent a 17-truck land convoy, laden with medicines, and medical appliances, out of which eleven trucks carrying 279 medical items were directed to the Republican Hospital in Aden and 25 medial items being sent to the stores of the central medical supplies of the ministry of health and population in Aden while six trucks headed for Maareb General Hospital, carrying 235 medical items. By the end of January 2017, the Republican Hospital in Aden also received, eleven trailers, laden with medical appliances, the first batch of a 58-truck donation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia being sent to a number of Yemeni provinces. Upon instructions by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the center has recently signed an agreement in the field of curing the injured with the legitimate government of Yemen to transport critical cases which require treatment out of Yemen. In coordination with the Alliance Forces, international organizations, ministry of health and population of Yemen and the Higher Committee for Relief, the center guarantees swift transfer and treatment for the injured in specialized medical centers abroad at the its expense inside and outside the Kingdom, according to medical reports issued by specialized committees. The center also managed to follow-up the speedy transfer and treatment abroad to guarantee the security and safety of the inured. Most recently, the center sent 16 injured Yemenis from Taiz to receive medical treatment in The Sudan.
