Philippine police on Saturday killed a foreign national suspected of being a sympathizer of an armed group that has pledged allegiance to the IS, a spokesman said. The suspect, identified as Abu Naila, resisted arrest during a raid in the town of Maasim in Sarangani province, 1,059 kilometers south of Manila, said Superintendent Romeo Galgo, a regional police spokesman. Naila attempted to lob a grenade at police officers. His Filipino female companion was also killed in the operation, dpa quoted Galgo as saying.
