Security Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior stated that competent security authorities have managed to foil two attempts to smuggle large amounts of narcotics into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and arrested the involved smugglers. He explained that upon coordination with the concerned authorities in the United Arab Emirates from which the smugglers wanted to smuggle the illicit items into the Kingdom, their attempt to smuggle (3,500,000) narcotic pills of amphetamines hidden professionally in three truck containers was foiled and three involved smugglers (two Syrian nationals and the third from Sri Lanka) were arrested. The second attempt was done by a Pakistani smuggler through Salwa cross point by using a truck in smuggling two kilos and 940 grams of raw heroin but it was foiled by the security men.
