The security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior stated that the competent security authorities are managed to disclose and follow up a criminal network aiming to smuggle crude heroin to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabi through the United Arab Emirates. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the spokesman added that the network has smuggled a large amount of crude heroin to the Kingdom in a truck transporting goods. "A competent security squad is assigned to investigate the incident and those who stand behind it. The truck is monitored and captured as its way to Riyadh. The security authorities arrested the driver, Pakistani national," he added. The spokesman said that the authorities seized with the driver kg5 of crude heroin and 302 of narcotic hidden in the roof of the driver's cabin. "In light of cooperation with counterparts in the UAE to follow up crimes and plans of this network, another smuggling attempt at Batha port in coordination with the Saudi Customs is aborted. The seized amount with the driver is 2 kilos and 599 grams of crude heroin," the spokesman added.
