The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the deadly suicide attack that targeted Baqir ul Olum Mosque in Kabul, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan today, killing at least 30 people on the spot and injuring dozens of others. The General Secretariat described the suicide attack as a heinous act that negates Islamic values which upholds the sanctity of life and places of worship. The General Secretariat extended its condolences to the government and people of Afghanistan as well as to the families of the victims of this tragedy, and urged the government to intensify efforts in bringing all those responsible for this reprehensible act to justice. The General Secretariat of the OIC further reiterated the principled position of the OIC that vigorously denounces all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all forms and manifestations, just as it categorically rejects any justifications for terrorism.
