The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the bomb attacks and series of shooting in the business district of Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, resulting in the death of at least six people, and injuring many more others. In sending his heartfelt condolence to the families of the victims of the attack and his wishes for the fast recovery of the injured, OIC Secretary General Iyad bin Ameen Madani condemned in strongest terms the perpetration of this heinous act committed against the peaceful community of Jakarta. He expressed his confidence in the Indonesian Government's efforts in bringing to justice the people behind the tragedy. The Secretary General restated the principled position of the OIC that vigorously denounces all acts of terrorism and violent extremism in all their forms and manifestations while it categorically rejects any justifications for terrorism.
