Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of topics and issues at local, regional and international arenas. Okaz, Al-Riyadh and Al-Yaum newspapers commented on the 27th Arab Summit in Mauritania, saying that the absence of a large number of Arab leaders from the summit held in Nouakchott yesterday is due to complicated circumstances and security crises experienced by the region in the past few years. The papers noted that the Kingdom of Morocco has apologized for not hosting this summit, saying, "The objective conditions are not available for holding a successful Arab summit able to make decisions at the level required by the situations", pointing to the absence of leaders of twelve Arab countries. The papers indicated that the crises and hardships being experienced by the Arab world pose enormous pressures affected the march of the joint Arab action, and it became in need of major efforts to counter terrorism which stands as a stumbling block in the wheel of development, security, stability, and reviving the hope of the development of Arab partnerships.
