The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad bin Ameen Madani, received at the OIC General Secretariat on Thursday, 21 July 2016, Ahmed Abdel Saduq, Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Algeria to Riyadh, who presented his credentials as Algeria's new Permanent Representative to the OIC. On this occasion, Ambassador Abdul Saduq underscored the special importance attached by the President and Government of Algeria to supporting OIC's work and promoting joint Islamic action in all its aspects. He also commended the distinguished role of the Secretary General and his diligent and relentless efforts to serve the interests of the Islamic Ummah. For his part, the Secretary General expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Algeria for its continued support to the OIC's activities and programmes. He also praised the pivotal role of Algeria at the OIC and its ongoing efforts to bring peace and security in the Republic of Mali and the Sahel and Sahara Region. He reiterated the OIC's commitment to continue its support and participation in the success of these efforts so that peace and prosperity prevail in this region.
