Taliban gunmen killed an Afghan general in southern province of Kandahar, dpa cited a provincial official as saying Friday. Two gunmen opened fire on General Khan Agha late Thursday night in Dand district, said Samim Khapalwak, a spokesman for the governor of Kandahar. "The general was on the way back to home from mosque," he said. A Taliban spokesman said the militant group carried out the attack.
