Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, the President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH), opened on Friday evening the exhibition of the ancient Capitals of Islamic Culture, at the National Museum in Riyadh. The exhibition is organized by SCTH, in collaboration with the German Pergamon Museum. The opening ceremony was attended by the Director General of State Museums in Berlin Dr. Michael Eisenberg, Director of the Museum of Islamic Art, at the Pergamon Museum in Berlin Dr. Stefan Weber and Ambassador of Germany to Saudi Arabia, Boris Ruge. In a press statement after the opening, Prince Sultan said that this exhibition reflects the civilizations of the Islamic capitals, pointing out that holding of this exhibition in the Saudi capital, underlines the importance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the leading role of the Arabian peninsula, in the launch of Islamic civilization.
