Jazeera said the extended Syria crisis started to provide the scene with new developments every time and then, with the differences surfacing over Syrian territories between Tehran and Moscow as the latest. The paper said the recent statement by Mohammed Ali Jaafari, Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander, has revealed a difference between the Russians and Iranians, not only about the fate of Bashar Al-Assad as leader of the Syrian regime, but also on the role of Lebanese Hezbollah and the sectarian militias coming from Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan. It said that following Russia's military intervention in Syria to combat terrorism, as the Russians put it, Moscow and Tehran have agreed that despite differences, Iran and its sectarian allies would remain controlling the situation on the ground while Russia would control the skies of Syria. The paper concluded that differences between Syria's main allies, Russia and Iran, might have arisen in the aftermath of falling of a number of Iranian officers, among them some who hold high-ranking military positions, by Russian friendly shelling, perhaps erroneously as the Russians say, several days ago in Hems province. --More 12:45 LOCAL TIME 09:45 GMT تغريد
