French President Francois Hollande sharply criticized climate activists who demonstrated Sunday in Paris, despite an order banning marches in the wake of the November 13 terrorist attacks. Protesters demanding action to curb global warming clashed with police in central Paris on the eve of an international summit at which more than 140 heads of state were expected to try to broker a deal to limit man-made emissions. Some 149 people were detained during the clashes between a few hundred protesters and police at the Place de la Republique near a memorial to the victims of this month's terrorist attacks, a police spokesman told dpa. -- SPA 21:38 LOCAL TIME 18:38 GMT تغريد
