Beckenbauer denies 2006 World Cup wrong doing, criticizes DFB

German football legend Franz Beckenbauer has again denied wrong doing in the award of the 2006 World Cup to the country and criticized the interim leaders of German Football Federation (DFB) for allegedly not replying to his offer to discuss his role in the scandal, dpa reported.
"I have always just signed everything. I even signed blindly," he
said in making his first public comments on the affair in an
interview with the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper to be published
Saturday.
Beckenbauer, 70, was president of the bid committee for the 2006
World Cup and questions have arisen over his signing a contract to
provide various services to the North America, Central America and
the Caribbean (CONCACAF) confederation in 2000.
