The U.S.-led anti-ISIS coalition conducted 17 airstrikes against the extremist group in Iraq and Syria Monday, the Combined Joint Task Force said Tuesday. The task force said in a statement that eight strikes in Iraq near Sinjar destroyed 26 militant fighting positions, five vehicles, 10 assembly areas, and three command and control nodes. Other strikes in the country hit near Ramadi, Kisik, Tal Afar, Mosul, and Makhmur. In Syria, the statement said, strikes were carried out near Raqqa, where a militant headquarters building was hit, and Tel Jibbin.
