The U.S.-led coalition battling ISIS conducted 48 airstrikes against the militant group in Iraq and Syria Sunday, the Combined Joint Task Force said Monday. According to a statement from the task force, 29 of the 39 airstrikes in Iraq occurred near the Anbar provincial capital Ramadi. The strikes targeted staging areas, excavators, an armored personnel carrier, and another vehicle. Other strikes in the country came near Al Huwayjah, Habbaniyah, Hit, Makhmur, Sinjar, and Tal Afar. In Syria, the statement said, there were nine strikes, with seven near Al Hasakah and one each near Raqqah and Kobani.
