Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad bin Ameen Madani has congratulated the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Senegal for their well deserved election as non-permanent members of the United Nations' Security Council for the period 2016-2017. Madani stated his conviction that the two dynamic countries, which are also founding members of the OIC, and the newly elected countries, will play an active role in defending the ideals of the UN which seek to promote global harmony, peace and security. The Secretary General assured the two OIC Member States of the full cooperation of the Organization during their mandate in order to realize the just Muslim causes around the world.
