AlHijjah 05, 1436, September 19, 2015, SPA -- U.S. Defense Secretary Ashton Carter spoke with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu by telephone Friday about Moscow's military buildup in Syria, the Pentagon said. According to Pentagon spokesperson Peter Cook, Carter and Shoigu had a constructive discussion and talked about areas of interest in which the countries converge. Cook said that during the 50-minute conversation, the defense chiefs agreed to talk more about how to deconflict the U.S.-led coalition campaign against the ISIS in Syria with Russia's recent moves to send equipment and personnel to Al-Assad's regime.
