AlQa'dah 2, 1436, Aug 17, 2015, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, expressed his strong condemnation of the criminal terror acts perpetrated by ISIS in the Libyan city of Sirte in which scores of civilians were killed and displaced. He noted that the persistence of these criminal acts on the Libyan territories presents a serious escalation on the part of this terrorist group and poses a threat to regional peace and security which forms an integral part of international security. Madani emphasized that the international community must consort its efforts in standing by the Libyan people to enable them build state institutions and consolidate security and stability in Libya. He urged all Libyan parties to engage positively with the United Nations-sponsored political dialogue track in order to fortify Libya against terrorism and its devastating consequences and to instate internal stability in the country to ensure the security of the entire region.
