The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Fiji Islands have established diplomatic relations. Saudi Permanent Representative to the United Nations Abdullah bin Yahiya Al-Mouallimi signed the protocol for the Kingdom and his Fiji counterpart Peter Thompson signed for the Islands, too. On the occasion, both of them have emphasized the keenness of their countries to promote the relations and expand cooperation, in all fields. The two sides decided to establish the relations, in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
