Six people died Tuesday when a boat carrying Syrian refugees heading towards Europe capsized off the Turkish coast, the Dogan news agency reported, according to dpa. The boat had about 60 people on board when it ran into stormy weather just before dawn. The Turkish coast guard managed to rescue most of the migrants. The boat had left from Bodrum, Turkey, and was heading towards the Greek island Kos, apparently in the hope of getting the migrants onto European Union territory.
