The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mo'allemi stressed that the Kingdom is honored to stand by the Palestinian people and all those who support them, noting that the Kingdom has provided support amounting to more than a half billion dollars over the past fifteen years to United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East ( UNRWA) , as well as the recent signing of seven agreements with UNRWA under which the Kingdom provides $ 111 million, the bulk of them were allocated to refugees in the Gaza Strip. This came in the Kingdom's speech delivered by Ambassador Al-Mo'allemi at the high-level conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Tuesday on the 65th anniversary of the start of UNRWA operations. He said, "I thank you for convening this important conference and inviting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in it. I am happy to speak to you today as the Kingdom has topped the list of major donors to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) alongside the United States of America and the European Union for the second consecutive year.
