US President Barack Obama met at the White House in Washington Thursday his Tunisian counterpart Beji Caid Essebsi, who is currently visiting the United States. In remarks to reporters after the meeting, Obama reaffirmed U.S. support for Tunisia's transition to democracy, saying he intends to designate Tunisia as a major non-NATO ally of the United States of America. For his part, the Tunisian president said he reviewed with US President, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of enhancing them.
