Nepal was being shaken by tremors Saturday as government relief efforts were being shifted away from search and rescue to delivery of emergency food and other supplies to survivors. Officials said relief delivery efforts had not been effective because the early priority was rescue operations after the April 25 quake. "It's hard to conduct both at the same time. Now the focus will be on relief works," dpa quoted Nepal Army chief General Gaurav Shumsher Rana as saying. The Finance Ministry also said the government has not yet received any of the tens of millions of dollars pledged by international donors for quake relief. Nepal's own relief fund has only about 15 million dollars. The confirmed official death toll increased to 6,621, with more than 14,000 injured, Interior Ministry spokesman Laxmi Dhakal said. "The priority now will be food and aid delivery, especially in the hardest-hit districts, like Dolakha and Sindhupalchowk," Dhakal said. "While we will try to find the survivors if we have any reports of such possibility, I think it will be very hard to find one under the rubble a week after the quake. It would be a surprise."
