Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad bin Ameen Madani vigorously condemned the bloody assault perpetrated today against a school in Peshawar, Pakistan. The attack caused the death of around one hundred people, most of them school-age children. Madani extended his solidarity and condolences to the Government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in particular to the families of the victims who lost their lives in this horrific and senseless terrorist attack. The Secretary General reiterated the OIC's principled position denouncing all acts of terrorism no matter what the justifications are. He pointed out that groups or individuals brandishing the name of Islam in conducting acts of terror have nothing to do with Islam, nor do they represent it.
