The UN Security Council on Tuesday extended sanctions on Yemen's former president and two leaders of the Houthi rebels who control the capital and much of northern Yemen. The unanimously adopted resolution renewed the sanctions it authorized last year, meaning that asset freezes and travel bans remain in place against former President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Houthi leaders Abd al-Khaliq al-Huthi and Abdullah Yahya al Hakim.
