Saudi Ambassador to the United States of America Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir held a reception party in honor of the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Iyad bin Amin Madani at the embassy yesterday in the presence of a number of ambassadors of Islamic countries in Washington. Addressing the party, the OIC Secretary General stressed the importance of concerted international efforts in combating terrorism and terrorist acts, noting that terrorist groups have distorted Islam, calling for the need to meet those challenges and clarify their truth and the fact that the Islamic religion is the religion of peace and mercy to the worlds. He indicated that the organization will attend important meetings in Washington on Thursday to discuss the fight against terrorism with a number of delegations of other participating countries, highlighting the importance of the concerted efforts of the international community and its organizations to maintain peace and security in the world.
