Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Cairo Monday for the start of a two-day visit to Egypt. Putin was received at Cairo Airport by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sissi and the two leaders are due to sign a number of bilateral agreements the following day, the Egyptian presidency said without providing further details. The visit is the first to Egypt by a Russian head of state since 2009. Al-Sissi visited Moscow in August, less than three months after being elected president.
