The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Democratic Republic of East Timor signed on Thursday an agreement to establish diplomatic relations. On behalf of Prince Saud al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the agreement was signed on the part of the Kingdom by Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Almoalimi and by on the part of the Republic of East Timor it was signed by the permanent delegate to the United Nations Ambassador Sofia Borks.
