Naim pointed out that the Commission considers the national heritage as the future and not the past, and that the Commission deals with the heritage product as a component of the national identity, reviewing the Commission's efforts in preserving the architectural heritage through the adoption of programs highlighting the important historical status of the Kingdom, the care of cultural heritage directly contributing to the protection of the national heritage and its development economically through the local tourism, the provision of job opportunities for citizens, and attraction of investment to the sites associated with the national heritage, as well as taking advantage of the national heritage in strengthening the link between citizens and the heritage of their civilizational homeland. He pointed to the success of the Commission in registering three sites within the urban heritage sites, and it is in the process of registering 11 new sites, bringing the number to 14 sites in the Kingdom's regions, reviewing the Commission's efforts and its partners in a number of sites including Riyadh downtown, Wadi Hanifa, and Jeddah downtown, which have attracted more than 75,000 visitors.
