Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Shegroud, Saudi ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, led the Kingdom's delegation to the Nineteenth Session of the Conference of States Parties of Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPWC) began here yesterday in The Hague. In his speech before the conference, ambassador Al-Shegroud stressed the Kingdom's firm stance on strengthening international cooperation efforts seeking to disarm weapons of mass destruction and prevent their spread in addition to support efforts aimed at making the Middle East free zone of all weapons of mass destruction as well as to urge the States possessing chemical weapons to complete destruction of their stockpiles of weapons due to the specified time, stressing the need to hold the Syrian regime accountable for the continued use of chlorine gas against the Syrian people. He also highlighted the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to the Chemical Weapons Convention at the national and international levels.
