The Minister of Hajj Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hajjar said that the Ministry's winning of Achievement Award for Electronic Government Transactions organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and patronized by Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Advisor and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, affirms that the Kingdom's government gives priority to care and attention to pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors of the Prophet's Mosque ,and it has exploited all its potentials in implementing gigantic projects for pilgrims' comfort and safety. In a press statement, Dr Hajjar noted that after the expansion of Masa'a (Walk Track), it will accommodate a number equivalent to three times before the expansion, considering the expansion of the Holy Grand Mosque in Makkah as the largest one in its history to accommodate after expansion 1,200,000 worshippers, in addition to the largest expansion in the history of the Prophet's Mosque to accommodate after expansion nearly two million worshippers. He pointed to the expansion of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which is the largest port for the arrival of pilgrims, to accommodate about 80 million passengers a year and the expansion of Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and converted it into an international airport to contribute in achieving comfort to pilgrims.
