AlHijjah 28, 1435, October 22, 2014, SPA -- The Dominican Republic has joined a group of Caribbean countries in restricting travelers from West African countries suffering from Ebola outbreaks. Health Minister Altagracia Guzman said in Santo Domingo that the ban applies to travelers who have been in such countries in the past 30 days. She announced that authorities will remain vigilant at airports, seaports, and the land border the country shares with Haiti. There are no direct flights between the Dominican Republic and any African country. Jamaica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad & Tobago have announced similar travel restrictions.
