AlHijjah 26, 1435, Oct 20, 2014, SPA -- Ministers and officials from the sectors of water in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries opened their 11th Gulf Water Conference here today. The opening ceremony of the Conference was held with the participation of the GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and in the presence of a number of experts and specialists. In a speech during the opening session, Dr. Al-Zayani said that water security in the GCC represents a major hub in the GCC joint action, and enjoys attention, care and follow-up of the leaders of GCC states who were and still are keen on the need to pay attention and focus on this main sector in the lives of the GCC citizens, emanating from their belief in the need for water and its critical importance.
