AlHijjah 07, 1435, October 01, 2014, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva Ambassador Faisal Trad announced the Kingdom's donation of one million dollars for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). He said in a speech before the session 65th of the Executive Council of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees that Saudi national campaign to support the Syrian people has provided more than 440 million riyals through more than 25 relief programs and humanitarian projects and contributed to the construction of camps and provision of food and medical treatment for Syrian refugees in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon. Ambassador Trad said that the Kingdom has provided an urgent aid worth 500 million dollars for the Iraqi people which have been disbursed through the United Nations, its organizations and working bodies, noting that the share of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees of this aid amounted about 89 million dollars.
