AlHijjah 05, 1435, September 29, 2014, SPA -- A fire erupted at the upper floor of a ten-story hotel occupied by Asian pilgrims coming from Britain was successfully put off by Civil Defense fire extinguishing squads in Makkah, with three, suffering from suffocation, rushed to the nearest hospital. The Media Spokesman of the Civil Defense said the blaze gutted a dining room and a reception hall before the fire extinguishing teams were able to evacuate all the 107 Indonesian, Indian and Pakistani pilgrims coming from Britain. An investigation was launched into the incident to determine the cause of the blaze, he added.
