MAKKAH — Four Civil Defense firefighting units contained a fire that started in a hotel located on Ibrahim Al-Khalil Street in Makkah. More than 250 occupants of the hotel were evacuated as a precaution. According to the Civil Defense, the fire started on the seventh floor. Firefighters battled the blaze and used rescue ladders to evacuate pilgrims trapped on upper floors. Two pilgrims were injured and treated for smoke inhalation. Saudi Red Crescent teams transferred the injured to a nearby hospital.
