Al-Turki on the security coordination with neighboring countries leading to dismantling a drug smuggling network

AlQa'dah 14, 1435, September 09, 2014, SPA -- Major General Mansour Al-Turki, the official spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, confirmed today that an initiative by the security authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to coordinate with neighboring countries has lead to dismantling a dangerous drug smuggling network.
In a press conference in Riyadh today, he disclosed that coordination between Saudi Arabia and its neighbors to curb drug trafficking into the Kingdom has resulted in the arrest of 1197 suspects involved in smuggling, transport, receiving and peddling of a sizable drug deal estimated at more than 1,878 billion Saudi Riyal.
It is difficult to say that there are terrorist groups with links to drug smugglers, he said, adding that the methods and approach of each is different.
