Qa'dah 12, 1435, Sep 7, 2014, SPA -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived in Sri Lanka on Sunday on a brief but significant visit aimed at boosting economic and security ties in the south Asian region, dpa cited officials as saying. Abe, whose visit marks the first time a Japanese premier has been to Sri Lanka in 24 years, arrived in Colombo on Sunday and is set to leave early Monday morning. The Japanese premier is scheduled to have talks with Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and to visit parliament.
