One killed after tanker rams pedestrian bridge over Istanbul motorway

AlQa'dah 08, 1435, September 03, 2014, SPA -- The collapse of a pedestrian bridge over a motorway
in Istanbul has left at least one person dead and injured at least
two others, local media reported Wednesday, according to dpa.
The bridge over the busy E5 motorway collapsed after a chemical
tanker truck rammed into it. Footage broadcast on Turkish television
showed the tanker partially buried under debris from the collapsed
bridge.
The partial closure of the motorway and the deployment of rescue
workers to the scene of the accident has caused heavy traffic in
parts of Istanbul.
