AlQa'dah 22, 1434, Sep 28, 2013, SPA -- The death toll has risen to 48 after the collapse of an apartment building in India's financial hub of Mumbai, as chances of finding survivors grew slim on the second day of rescue operations, dpa cited officials as saying on Saturday. "All through Saturday afternoon we pulled out bodies from the debris, while some injured also succumbed," National Disaster Response Force commander Alok Avasthy told dpa. According to broadcaster CNN-IBN, police arrested a decorator following a complaint from municipal authorities that he had allegedly made illegal alterations to the ground floor of the building, which collapsed on Friday. Television footage showed ambulances moving bodies from the accident site, as cranes and rescue workers cleared the debris. Anxious relatives thronged the site to get news of their loved ones. Some complained of a lack of coordination between local agencies. -- SPA 17:56 LOCAL TIME 14:56 GMT تغريد
