Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of local, regional and international issues. Almadinah newspaper highlighted in its editorial the Saudi cabinet's welcoming in its weekly meeting chaired on Monday by Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier, Advisor and Special Envoy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the unanimous approval of the UN Security Council to cut funding from "Daash Organization" and "Al-Nusra Front or Jabhat Al-Nusra", and listed a number of people on the black list due to their relationship with these two armed groups. The paper considered the cabinet's welcoming of this important UN resolution as reaffirmation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's firm standby in the face of terrorism to address the advocates of extremism and deviant thought of those who are trying to distort the tolerant message of Islam and its great principles which urge moderation and tolerance. It further said that the initiatives launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in this regard prove the Kingdom's merits in leading the international community in the fight against terrorism. Almadinah also described the decision as an important step in the war on terrorism, particularly as it comes in the wake of the Kingdom's donation of one billion US dollars for the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT). --More 10:55 LOCAL TIME 07:55 GMT تغريد
