The Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers called this evening its ministerial contact team, which was formed at the expanded emergency meeting in Jeddah at the level of foreign ministers, to harry up contacts with effective world community parties to act for the stoppage of Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip and convey to them the message and resolutions of the OIC. The Committee expressed profound concern on the deteriorating situations and aggravation of humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip due to Israeli continuing aggression, non-humanitarian siege and other illegal measures against the Palestinian people in Gaza Strip, calling on the world community to coerce Israel to end its illegal siege, open the border crossings and guarantee free movement of persons, material and goods from and to Gaza Strip. The recommendations confirmed that the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, including Eastern Al-Quds consist one geographic unit. The continual Israeli occupation and the illegal practices in the occupied Palestinian territories as well as the grave violations of the international law and human rights law are the base of the current tension, the statement said. It added that the failure of the world community and the relevant institutions to shoulder their responsibilities to hold Israel accountable for its crimes has contributed to its overdoing so and depriving the Palestinian people from enjoying their right of determination. The statement lauded the steadfast of the Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli aggression, vowing its full support for the fair struggle of the Palestinian people to restore their inalienable rights, including the sovereignty of the Palestinian State, with Al-Quds as capital. The communique said the Israeli continuing violations in the Palestinian occupied territories, including the current aggression on Gaza Strip, the Judaization of holy city of Al-Quds, the siege, settlement building, and collective punishment constitute war crimes and grave violations of the UN charter and its pertinent resolutions and a serious threat to the international security and peace that might lead to the instability of the entire region. The communique confirmed support for the Palestine Liberation Organization as the sole representative of the Palestinian people and for the national reconciliation authority, calling on the UN security council to enforce the necessary measures according to the 7th Chapter of the UN Chapter and apply them on Israel and underscored the importance of providing the necessary prompt assistance to the Palestinian people and expressed thanks to the foreign countries which did so. --More 22:40 LOCAL TIME 19:40 GMT تغريد
